PUBLIC TESTFLIGHT BETA · iOS 27

DUAL AUDIO RELAY

Two devices.
One pair of headphones.

iPhone audio travels over an encrypted local link to the Mac. macOS mixes it with every sound already playing there, then sends the result to one pair of AirPods.

The Mac receiver and the iPhone TestFlight build are both required. After installation, testers need no Xcode, developer account, or terminal commands.

THREE CLASSIC COMBINATIONS

One relay. Different ways to listen.

01AIRPODS

Game + live stream

Play on iPhone while a live stream or video continues on Mac. Both stay audible through the same AirPods.

02APPLE HEADSET

Game + voice chat

Mix iPhone game audio with Discord or a meeting on Mac. The headset microphone remains with the Mac.

03MAC SPEAKERS

Music without headphones

Relay music or podcasts from iPhone and listen through the Mac’s built-in speakers after explicitly allowing that output.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Three things within reach.

01

Supported devices

A physical iPhone on iOS 27+, a Mac on macOS 15+, and AirPods or Apple Bluetooth headphones.

02

Local connection

Keep Wi‑Fi enabled on both devices. Automatic mode tries shared Wi‑Fi first, then Apple peer-to-peer; either path remains local.

03

Two installations

Install the signed Mac receiver from GitHub Releases and join the public TestFlight beta on iPhone.

INDEPENDENT BETA

A guided first run. A one-tap daily routine.

Complete these steps once. The Mac app remembers pairing and the output-safety policy; both apps reconnect automatically afterward.

  1. 01

    Install the Mac receiver

Download the latest signed and notarized DMG from GitHub Releases, drag DualAudioRelay to Applications, and open it.

macOS may ask once whether the app may accept local network connections.
  2. 02

    Finish the Mac checklist

The first-run window checks the output device, pairing state, incoming iPhone audio, and optional launch at login.

  3. 03

Keep Apple headphones on the Mac

On iPhone, set Connect to This iPhone to When Last Connected to This iPhone. Then select AirPods or Apple Bluetooth headphones as the Mac output; another eligible pair is allowed automatically.

  4. 04

    Pair once

Scan the QR code shown by the Mac. If iPhone Mirroring is active, end mirroring or use the one-time clipboard import.

Apple blocks iPhone camera access while iPhone Mirroring is in use.
  5. 05

    Start iPhone audio

Tap Start, approve Apple’s system sharing panel on the physical iPhone, then move to the game or media app.

  6. 06

    Verify before listening

The Mac guide should show a safe output ready, iPhone connected, and a moving input level. Adjust relay volume on iPhone if needed.

THE MAC RECEIVER

It tells the tester what remains.

Output

Automatically allows current AirPods or Apple Bluetooth headphones, while blocking AirPlay, displays, and virtual devices by default.

Pairing

Shows a QR code, clipboard fallback, and live connection state.

Audio

Shows whether iPhone packets and stereo levels are actually arriving.

Continuity

Offers launch at login and automatically rebuilds after sleep or output changes.

IF SOMETHING STOPS

The shortest recovery path.

The camera does not open

End iPhone Mirroring and retry on the physical phone. If permission was denied, use Open Settings. Clipboard pairing remains available.

The Mac is not found

Allow Local Network access, keep Wi‑Fi enabled, and temporarily disable a VPN or network filter on both devices.

Connected, but silent

Check the capture and Mac input meters, then the Mac output policy. Use AirPods/Apple Bluetooth headphones, or explicitly allow built-in speakers. Protected content may still be blocked by iOS.

KNOWN BOUNDARIES

Designed around Apple’s permitted path.

  • Calls, FaceTime, DRM-protected media, and apps that prohibit screen capture are not promised.
  • AirPods microphones cannot be routed back to the iPhone through this app.
  • AirPods and Apple Bluetooth headphones are allowed automatically. AirPlay, display audio, and virtual devices are blocked by default; Specific Headset Lock restricts only the headphone path.
  • Mac built-in speakers require an explicit opt-in and warn that their sound may be picked up by the iPhone microphone and echoed into voice chat.
  • Apple’s system sharing confirmation cannot be bypassed or automated.
  • The iOS 27 build is a TestFlight pilot; compatibility is rechecked for every system release candidate.
